Drop Slide Arrow I dropped my iPhone in the toilet. What should I do?
Okay, so I dropped my iPhone in the toilet, and then I rinsed it off. (Please don't ask me why I did it because that won't help, haha.) After that, I pressed a bunch of random buttons. I thought it was still wet, so I set it in the sun for a while, and I checked back on it and it had a little wire thing, an arrow, and then an iTunes sign. Then there was a slide thing, alternating in different languages, that said Emergency Call. If you slid it, it gave you a keypad. I hooked it up to the computer, and clicked Restore and Update like it told me to do. It downloaded a software, then I pressed Restore again and it said Extracting Software. After this, it said Error (23) and it gave me something and I clicked Agree and it took me to this webpage http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275
What do I do now? >:(

Youth World Championships 2009 - Ogden - Ind. Match #8
Can I start out with a youth bow?
I want to buy a recurve bow to get started in archery, but they are so expensive! I am 5' 6" and 125 pounds. Could I use a 46" youth bow?
Absolutely, start out with a youth bow! It is recommended that all new archers, no matter their age, height or "strength" start with a low-draw weight "youth" bow so they can learn the mechanics of archery.
By "strength", I mean physical strength. I knew one guy who could bench press over 180 pounds and curl over 70 pounds with one hand -- but he couldn't handle a "mere" 40 lb draw bow. It's a different set of muscles....

There are others, but I don't have them all bookmarked.....
By the way, here's something you will find useful...you will probably need to adjust each "step" to suit your own particular "style" (what works for me likely won't the same for you), but it is important to do each "step" the same way every time, no matter how you actually do it.

You are watching an archery tournament when you start wondering how fast an arrow is shot from the bow. Remembering your physics, you ask one of the archers to shoot an arrow parallel to the ground. You find the arrow stuck in the ground 72 m away, making a 2ยฐ angle with the ground. How fast was the arrow shot?
there are probably several ways to do this
none of them would be right because the arrow shot parallel to flat ground, flying straight, without uneven wind resistance could only hit the ground flat, at no angle
I assume that they mean that the spot where the arrow hit would make a line back to the release point that would be at a 2 degree angle with the ground. Assuming that, then:
the most straightforward way requires that you know the height from the ground when the arrow was released
you can find that with a little trigonometry -- given the 72 m for one side of the right triangle, and the 2 degree angle, you can get the other side
tan(2 deg)=x/72
72 tan(2) = x = 2.5 meters -- wo, that's a tall archer
so, the arrow falls 2.5 meters down due to acceleration of gravity during its flight
using the equation
x=1/2 a t^2 + Vo + Xo (initial velocity down and distance is zero)
x=1/2 a t^2
2.5 m= 1/2 (9.8 m/sec^2) t ^2
2*2.5/9.8 = t^2
.71=t
so, it took 71 seconds to fall from the starting height of 2.5 meters
during that same .71 seconds that it was falling down to the ground, it was speeding along sideways
it went 72 meters in .71 seconds
72/.71= 101 m/sec
that is very fast, but not impossible
all these numbers look a little goofy so either
* I made the wrong assumptions about what the problem was trying to ask
* I screwed up the math somewhere
* It's a poorly set up problem numerically
Even if I have messed it up, perhaps my attempt will give you some ideas

Is it selfish if I do not go to all my significant other's events for his hobbies?
Long story short, me and my ex have been broken up for a year now, but he wants to give it one more shot. I have no problem with that seeing that trying never hurts. So by us doing this, we have decided to be honest about our feelings and stuff. Well he says that I am selfish and inconsiderate towards him and overall. The reason for him saying this is because I won't attend all of his functions he participates in. He does things like archery and gun ranges. For one I hate guns, and he knows this from the last time I went to the range with him. Archery is actually cool, but the tournaments can be like 3 days long. And he wants me to be there everyday, like he wants me to take off work and stuff like that. I just thinks that is ridiculous if you ask me. And because of that, I am now selfish and inconsiderate. Now I admit I can be selfish sometimes, but not to the degree he makes it. Me and him have extremely different tastes and hobbies. So bottom line, am I in the wrong??
Insist that HE attend all of YOUR events/doings/hobbies/etc. Hey, if it's good for the gander....
When he says that being required to attend all of those baby showers, tupperware parties, coffe-klatches, whatever the heck you feel like at the moment, etc is just "stupid" (and that's probably one of the mildest words he'll be using...)....well, maybe he'll actually understand how YOU feel about being required to do things you really don't like to do -- just to "prove how much you love him".
I have NEVER required that my woman -- whoever it is at the time (I'm currently single) -- go places and do things with me just because I want her to. If she actually wants to, great, but it is not required that she want to.
We ALL have our lives, and they really do not intertwine as often as people tend to think they do. If this guy of yours thinks that you need to be there, physically, in order for him to "feel good"...then HE is the selfish and inconsiderate one in your relationship.
Rack Holds will an aluminum truck topper hold a fiberglass canoe without a rack?
I have an old century aluminum truck topper and a 15' fiberglass canoe. Can I carry the canoe on top of the topper without buying a roof rack?
You might want to get canoe pads for the truck. It's 4 dense foam pads the fit on the gunnels and have a non slip pad on the bottom. You still need to tie it down but they are cheap and quick.
